美國職業籃球NBA史上最偉大的神射手之一雷．艾倫(Ray Allen)1日宣布退休。
今年41歲的艾倫，NBA生涯中曾為波士頓塞爾蒂克、邁阿密熱火奪下總冠軍；他也曾投進NBA決賽史上最令人難忘的一球，他的3分球總數至今無人能出其右。
艾倫自2013-14球季就未再出賽，期間關於他將復出的傳聞不曾間斷。但他1日在「球員論壇」(The Players' Tribune)網站上宣布退休。他說，他決定已經足夠了。
艾倫在NBA總共待了18個球季，先後效力過密爾瓦基公鹿、西雅圖超音速、波士頓塞爾蒂克以及邁阿密熱火。在1,300場例行賽中，平均每場得分18.9分，十度入選全明星賽(All-Star Games)。
艾倫在網站上發表了一篇「給小艾倫的一封信」，以自己做為第一人稱，回顧他13歲至今的旅程。他寫道：「我今天以一個41歲、將從球場上退休的人寫信給你…以一個心態上完全平靜的人寫信給你。」
艾倫是NBA史上最偉大的射手之一，18個球季累積2,973顆三分球，迄今無人能破。
NBA主席席佛(Adam Silver)稱讚艾倫是「一位了不起的球員」。他說：「以NBA大家庭的名義，我要感謝他(艾倫)，他是一位偉大的籃球大使。」
